DEMOCRETS – Governance, collective action and political participation: challenges of contemporary democracy

She currently researches in the area of political participation and survey research methods at the Institute for Advanced Social Studies (IESA/CSIC), where she has been the coordinator of the survey research department from 2009 to June, 2017. In recent years she has focused, together with the survey research department at IESA, on the process of building and maintaining the Citizen Panel for Social Research (PACIS), a probability-based mixed-mode panel of the Andalusian population.

She completed her PhD at Public University of Navarre with a dissertation on the effects that coverage bias due to the exclusion of cell-phone-only population (CPO) from CATI samples have on the accuracy of pre-election polls in Spain. Her current research interests include the descripction and analysis of democratic innovations in Spain and how the new technologies are challenging and changing the field of survey modes and procedures.
